Should you come at night

as shy as December’s snow

I will be sleeping and unable to say hi

but know this, you have always been

the yellow chrysanthemum

in this garden of dejected loves,

you that never chained me

and that always smile

when I hug you.

Should you come

and it will be the night to hide you

I will be that kid

that in the night’s veil

awaits for Santa Claus

to exchange presents,

I will hide by the stairs

and observe quietly

because should you come by night

I will stay awake to tell you

I love you

because yours is the hug

that I miss the most

when I’m awake,

Freedom.
